Privacy Policy

Chào Bà is made by Hive Creative LLC ("we"). We built it to help families talk to each other, not to collect data about you. Here is exactly what happens with your information.

The short version

• No account, no ads, no tracking, and no selling of data. Ever.
• Your name and the family member you're learning for stay on your device.
• If you use speaking practice, your voice clip is sent to Google to check your pronunciation. We don't keep it.

What stays on your device

The name or nickname you enter, who you're learning for (for example Bà or Ông), and your lesson progress are saved only on your iPhone or iPad. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

Speaking practice

When you record yourself saying a phrase, the short audio clip and the phrase you were practicing are sent through our server to Google's Gemini API (a paid Google service). Google turns it into text and helps give you feedback. If you chat with "Bà" in the app, your typed message is sent the same way to get her reply.

• We do not store your voice clips or messages. They pass through our server and are thrown away once the result is back.
• Under Google's terms for paid API use, Google does not use this content to train its products. Google may keep it for a limited time to detect abuse. See Google's Gemini API terms.
• To keep costs fair, our server counts how many practice requests each app install makes per day. That count is tied to the anonymous ID described below and is deleted after about a day.
• Speaking practice is optional and needs your permission to use the microphone. You can turn that off anytime in iOS Settings.

Subscriptions

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat gets an anonymous, randomly made app user ID plus your purchase history from Apple, so the app knows whether Pro is unlocked. It doesn't get your name or email. Apple handles all payments; we never see your card details. See the RevenueCat privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.

Kids and families

Chào Bà is an education app for teens and adults. It is not directed at children under 13. We know parents may use it together with their kids, and we hope they do! Because we don't collect names, accounts or contact details, we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information (for example, in a support email), contact us and we'll delete it.

Your choices

• Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device.
• Don't use speaking practice if you'd rather not send voice clips.
• Email us with any privacy question or request.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change is important, we'll mention it in the app.
